Albacore Tuna
Today I had the half Tuna on sourdough and half clam chowder. The sourdough was soft and tuna was flavorful. The soup was very tasty as well. The portion was perfect for a light lunch. The atmosphere is peaceful and the staff is very attentive and kind. We will definitely be back.
Famous Buttermilk Pie
Just wow! Village Buttery's marquee butter pie is truly one of a kind and definitely lived up to its well-earned reputation as a unique and special dessert! My only regret is limiting myself to just 1 slice back when I was there!
Famous Buttermilk Pie
The gluten-free buttermilk pie is my absolute favorite. Usually something labeled gluten-free has a gritty texture. The pie here has a perfect buttery crust. The star is the crispy top of the caramelized custard. Every year we come to Ruidoso, I have to order a whole pie….. it's just that good!

Gourmet Cookies
Not to be outdone by their amazing buttermilk pie, Village Buttery's offering of 4 high-end-bakery cookies for just $6 (at least at the time I was there) is an unheard-of bargain for that level of cookie deliciousness, and another "must buy" in my opinion when visiting thier shop!
Chicken Salad
Very picky about chicken salad, but the village buttery did not disappoint 😋 light and tangy with just the right amount of crunch!!!
Penne
I went back specifically for The Penne Pasta. I ordered a half portion which was a decent size. They make their own dressing out of sun dried tomatoes, balsamic vinegar and basil. The sun dried tomato dressing is blended and remains thick as it is a bright note on the Penne which comes with artichoke hearts, cherry tomatoes and sugar snap peas. I'm proud of The Village Buttery for carrying a vegan item and remaining cruelty free. Happy Holidays Ruidoso.
Famous Buttermilk Pie
Delicious. I buy this in whole pies for my family. They even make a gluten free crust option!
Bacon, Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato (BALT)
I love the BALT on a croissant. Any time I'm in Ruidoso when they're open they're my 1st choice.
